Bachelor thesis report 5

This week I'm back a little thematic leap from teachlet definition to my empiricism. A couple of weeks I have already mentioned once that I would like to conduct interviews to gather more "food" for my work. Today I want to tell you how I came to that, I would like to apply the methodology and what I want to achieve.
Types of interviews
Social researchers have identified a considerable variety of forms and standards for interviews. For my approach especially the different types of interviews (in contrast to standardized interviews) is interesting because it compared structured and more open during the interview, allow the free narrative of the respondents, and even promote, in the preparation of the questionnaire is not so that issues are discussed, could be sensed.
Very much simplified (not listen methodological purists briefly) one could say: in interviews have not all questions in advance on paper. Also hopes the guide interviewers tend not to as short and precise, but on as long and detailed answers. No two interviews are the same.
The problem-centered interview
The interviews are then further subdivided. After I have gives me a rough idea, I tend to orientate myself to the approach of the problem-centered interviews (quote Wikipedia):
The problem-centered interview (English: problem-centered interview) is a survey method of qualitative social Research, with the data obtained from respondents (and analyzed) are. The focus is on the experiences, perceptions and reflections of the respondents to a particular problem (topic).
The method then makes additional demands on the system (eg an additional short questionnaire). To decide whether the additional structures are net worth for me, I will probably only a little bit read need. What is certain that the above operational context for me very nice match.
Interview Guide
The central document of interviews is - surprise - the interview guide. This is something of an agenda for the interview. It covers all subjects (often pre-formulated questions), the interviewer wants to discuss, in an expected and logical sequence. He used to stay organized and ensure that in the course of the interview is not an issue is forgotten.
I will probably develop its own guidelines for each interview, or at least make adjustments to, since experience with teachlet at various moderators of different kinds. Nevertheless, there must first be a skeleton. Therefore, here we get (more or less from the belly), ask questions, would like to ask.
- What experience with the concept teachlet have you already collected?
- As you have seen teachlet compared with other forms of teaching, you know?
- Where do you see boundaries of the concept? Where would you teachlet use in any case?
- Do you have instructions for future teachlet moderators? What is not any established knowledge, but should be considered in any case?
What question(s) could also be of importance? Reminder: The interview guide should not stand each pre-formulated question, but it is more of a checklist that allows you to verify that none of the questions will be forgotten in the course of the interview.
Interviewees
In addition to Christian Späh and Axel Schmolitzky that have been already mentioned several times, there are a number of people who have already held teachlet and I would rate so that they contribute important insights for my work. Out of respect for the personality rights of these people I lead that list the first place, not public. However, once commitments are in place and there have been appointments, I will of course disclose all important here. To what extent protocols and/or recordings of the interviews can be published, I will then arrange separately with the interviewees. Perhaps someone wants to do not, then it does not fail it. But I go really expect that some will be behind them to find here.
Is there someone / the most important has to say about teachlet and wishes to be heard? Please contact me.
Is anyone interested in the concept of interviews and would probably just witnessed one? Should work on my account. Let me know.
Technology
An often overlooked but important detail is the question of recording technology. You need a device, the spoken language in a (hopefully) quiet room record with a satisfactory quality. I've tried it: my mobile phone it can not. But not for the microphone is sensitive enough for my laptop.
Outlook
Next Tuesday there is probably (maybe a day late) a ** surprise topic**, because I forgot to ask those responsible to what extent I can talk about it in advance... So I just build a little tension. Until next Tuesday!
