2010-09-10 15:25:41
Today there is a report in between, because it is already profitable. There is a glossary that I wrote for the work - there can finally have their say even people who have no far clue from teachlet. There are news from the Office of Studies for the Master's approval.
Glossary of Terms
The following list of terms is one to one from the current draft of my dissertation. I present here completely clean because it's not too long and because I hope that you can make me aware of problems. Are the concepts explained well enough? Where there is ambiguity? Are there other terms that may have appeared at some point here on the blog and to whom you wish a statement would?
- Base System: A running, but deficient in a certain way software. In general this is designed specifically for a teachlet so that the successful practical application of the learning objective teachlet (such as a specific object-oriented design pattern) said the deficit over the software teachlet unit can be addressed by the participants.
- Author: Include a teachlet one or more authors, the first time teachlet have designed and documented. Usually the author is also the moderator at the first performance of a teachlet. A moderator can but also by other authors teachlet list.
- Choreography: A timetable for performance of a particular teachlet to the end and sets time limits for individual sections.
- Result System: The software, as in a teachlet unit the students from the output system is developed. The result is the system teachlet unit arises and at every performance of the teachlet again. Unlike the target system is the result system is not in every case without error.
- Objective: Each teachlet has a learning goal. This is often an object-oriented design pattern, it will also e.g. programming language concepts and implementations of algorithms in question. Within a unit teachlet, participants are to the learning goal learn both theoretically and practically apply it to the output system.
- Moderator: A teachlet unit is led by one or more moderators. This shall comply with and to its teachlet goal very familiar to the participants successfully and within the time frame through the choreography to direct, without him to take more room than necessary.
- Teachlet:
- A designed to interactivity teaching concept in the previous paragraph and in chapter 4 will be defined more precisely.
- A largely static collection of documents and software that allow to keep a certain topic a teachlet unit, the was designed by the authors of this teachlet. It is recommended [Sch05], to give each teachlet a version number that can be to see how often and how much this teachlet was already revised.
- Teachlet unit: A concrete implementation of a teachlet in a specific teaching unit. Also: teachlet performance
- Teachlet workshop: A teachlet workshop "is a seminar-type event semester in which the participants new teachlet elaborate. Each participant has to do with at least one learning objective look and design for this learning goal is a teachlet. The new teachlet be the participants of the workshop and tried out then analyzed by the participants and evaluated."([Sch05]) In teachlet workshops will therefore focus on feedback down to the newly created teachlet. To this end, there usually Tracker used.
- Participants: To a unit teachlet include at least one, typically several participants. Participants sit in parliament and make the from moderator framework set by speeches and discussions. In general, let at a unit teachlet both active and passive participants observed. Increasingly active participants expressed their opinions and defend their position while largely passive participants to listen only.
- Tracker: A role, especially in the teachlet workshop an important role belongs. The tracker is from among the participants and has the task of a time log of the teachlet create, against which the moderator behind the practicality of the choreography can check. These writes the tracker at what time the different phases of the teachlet start and end.
- Goal system: A version of the software under consideration in the implementation of the correct objective was. The target system is normally by the author of teachlet created and is used as a last resort, if the implementation by participants not succeed within time.
Authorization for the computer science master degree
All who are concerned, have probably already read the mail, we have this year but still get lucky and have time to theoretically deliver up to 1.4, everything.. Not that I would like to make excessive use... but at least it means that the 4th October problematic as the date for the talk on the work and that I am not quite so must rush as feared. So the 4.10. keep clear, if you want to hear the lecture.
By the way: Yesterday me by mail a copy of the application of the work received the signature of the audit committee chairman. Officially, I have time to 6 December. But do not worry, no later than early to mid October, I'll finish.
Chapter status
Actually I was going to spare you a new structure, since only a few new sub-chapter have been added. Then I thought, but that it may be exciting to get an overview of written and pending chapters. Therefore, now is again a current format in which still to be written chapters in bold.
